Abstract

The present investigation entitled “Genetic characters studies for some metric traits in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)†was carried out together the information regarding genetic architecture of yield and its components, along with developmental and quantity attributes. The all possible crosses were made between 10 parents of linseed (Excluding reciprocals) to get 45 F0 during 2002-2003 at research farm of janta mahavidyala Ajitmal Auraiya. The half F0 seed seeds were were advanced to get F1’s during Rabi 2003-2004 the final experiment consisting 10 parents their 45 F1s and F2s each were grown in a randomized block design during 2004-2005 with three replications in 3m single row of F1s and two rows each of parents and F2s. The line to line distance was 30 cm and plant to plant was 10 cm all the agronomical practices were adopted to raise a good crop.

The data were recorded on 10 randomly selected plant from F1s and parents and 20 from F2s regarding branches per plant, capsules per plant, seeds per capsule. Data were subjected to various statistical analysis. The average degree of dominance showed the presence of over dominance for all the traits in both the generations.
